Tengo una amplia experiencia en la ense\u00f1anza del espa\u00f1ol a todos los niveles en colegios brit\u00e1nicos de Educaci\u00f3n Secundaria (GCSE y A Level) y universidades del Reino Unido y de Espa\u00f1a. Experiencia docente en GCSE y A Level<\/h2>\n

En 2020 empec\u00e9 a ense\u00f1ar espa\u00f1ol a distancia. R\u00e1pidamente me di cuenta de que hab\u00eda una gran variedad de actividades pr\u00e1cticas que se pod\u00edan adaptar para crear clases online atractivas y din\u00e1micas. Me encanta poder seguir ense\u00f1ando espa\u00f1ol para los ex\u00e1menes de GCSE y A Level a estudiantes del Reino Unido. Gracias a mi experiencia directa con las especificaciones de AQA y Edexcel, s\u00e9 exactamente lo que buscan los examinadores, por eso, en mis clases cubro todo lo que necesitas saber para sacar buena nota. Experiencia docente con adultos<\/h2>\n

Ense\u00f1ar espa\u00f1ol a distancia es una de mis pasiones porque me permite ense\u00f1ar a estudiantes de todo el mundo que tienen menos posibilidades de asistir a un curso presencial tradicional debido al trabajo y a otras exigencias de su tiempo. Adem\u00e1s del Reino Unido, mis estudiantes actuales viven en Estados Unidos, Australia, China y Europa. Disfruto viendo c\u00f3mo mis estudiantes progresan, desde frases cortas y descripciones hasta debates sobre temas m\u00e1s complejos. Me siento muy orgullosa cuando me hablan de sus viajes a pa\u00edses hispanohablantes y de c\u00f3mo han interactuado con la gente local en espa\u00f1ol.<\/p>\n

Espa\u00f1ol m\u00e9dico<\/h2>\n

Me gusta crear material did\u00e1ctico para fines espec\u00edficos. En particular, tengo experiencia en la ense\u00f1anza de espa\u00f1ol para profesionales de la salud. En 2022 realic\u00e9 un curso de posgrado sobre espa\u00f1ol m\u00e9dico en el Centro Internacional de Estudios Superiores de la Fundaci\u00f3n CIESE-Comillas. Este curso me ayud\u00f3 a desarrollar materiales did\u00e1cticos centrados en la comunicaci\u00f3n m\u00e9dico-paciente para que los estudiantes puedan utilizar habilidades estrat\u00e9gicas (por ejemplo, escucha activa, empat\u00eda, cortes\u00eda verbal, comunicaci\u00f3n no verbal y asertividad) para recopilar informaci\u00f3n relevante con el fin de facilitar un diagn\u00f3stico preciso y mantener una relaci\u00f3n terap\u00e9utica m\u00e9dico-paciente exitosa.<\/p>\n

M\u00c9TODO DE ENSE\u00d1ANZA<\/h2>\n

Mi pr\u00e1ctica docente se basa en mi formaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica y en mi amplia experiencia en la ense\u00f1anza del espa\u00f1ol como lengua extranjera. Aplico un enfoque de andamiaje para asegurar que los estudiantes se enfrentan a retos ling\u00fc\u00edsticos, sea cual sea su lengua materna. Me enorgullezco de ofrecer un ambiente agradable en el que los estudiantes puedan sentirse seguros a la hora de expresarse, mejorando su fluidez y confianza en el espa\u00f1ol. Elaboro materiales did\u00e1cticos innovadores basados en temas actuales de cultura, literatura, ficci\u00f3n moderna e historia de los pa\u00edses hispanohablantes. De hecho, una motivaci\u00f3n clave es despertar el inter\u00e9s de los estudiantes por las culturas espa\u00f1ola e hispanohablantes, de las que tengo un profundo conocimiento a trav\u00e9s de estudios formales y viajes a M\u00e9xico, Colombia y Chile.<\/p>\n

GCSE and A Level teaching experience<\/h2>

In 2020 I started teaching Spanish remotely. I quickly realised that there was a wide variety of practical activities which could be adapted to create engaging and dynamic live online lessons. I love being able to continue teaching Spanish GCSE and Spanish A Level to students in the United Kingdom and thanks to my direct experience of the AQA and Edexcel specifications, I know exactly what examiners are looking for. Adult education<\/h2>

Teaching Spanish remotely is a passion of mine because it allows me to teach students from all over the world who are less likely to join a traditional classroom course due to work and other demands on their time. In addition to the United Kingdom, current students live in the United States, Australia, China and Europe. I enjoy watching my students\u2019 progress, starting from short sentences and descriptions to discussions on more complex topics. It makes me very proud when my students tell me about their trips to Spanish-speaking countries and how they have interacted with the locals.<\/p>

Medical Spanish<\/h2>

I enjoy creating teaching materials for specific purposes. In particular, I have experience teaching Spanish for health professionals. In 2022 I completed a postgraduate course on medical Spanish at the International Centre for Higher Spanish Studies at the CIESE-Comillas Foundation. This course helped me to develop teaching materials focused on doctor-patient communication so that learners can use strategic skills (e.g., active listening, empathy, verbal politeness, non-verbal communication and assertiveness) to gather relevant information in order to facilitate accurate diagnosis and sustain a successful therapeutic doctor- patient relationship.<\/p>

My teaching practice draws upon my academic background and broad experience of teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I apply a scaffolding approach to ensure students are challenged whatever their linguistic background. I pride myself on providing a friendly environment where students can feel secure in expressing themselves, improving their fluency and confidence in Spanish. I produce innovative teaching materials based on current issues in culture, literature, modern fiction and history of Spanish-speaking countries. Indeed, a key motivation is to engage students\u2019 interest in Spanish and Latin American cultures, of which I have a profound understanding through formal studies and travel to Mexico, Colombia and Chile.<\/p>
